DEXA Scans (Bone Density Scan)

Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) is not for everyone and is not as they say, the "easy way out" from dieting. Your aftercare is a very important issue when you have surgery. It is so important to your health that you watch you’re eating, take your vitamins, make sure you limits your Carbs, and exercise even if you just walk to star out. Also, very important, have yearly DEXA scans which tests your Bone Density Described below:
The most common test for tracking bone density over time is the DXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) scan. A DXA (sometimes pronounced "Dexa") scan is fast, accurate, pain-free, and has very low radiation. A DXA scan provides your doctor with information about your postmenopausal osteoporosis management plan. I was diagnosed with Advanced Osteoporosis and they deemed it to be a result of my surgery. ~Sherri
